A manufacturer of construction equipment and agricultural machinery came to us with a unique proposition. They wanted to showcase a new line of heavy-duty machinery to dealers and potential buyers from around Australia. Initial idea was to find a venue for a conventional expo style event to showcase the machinery with product information. However, through our brain storming sessions, an idea started to gather momentum with reflection of the potential delegates that were to attend. With possible buyers there we thought there would be more impact if we were able to see the machines in operation. The idea of showing off the machinery in all its glory soon gathered momentum, but who would allow for the ground to be dug up for show, no body it seemed.

However, we soon found a private ranch that would allow us to explore this idea, and so we did. Turning an empty field on the far corner of the ranch into our own private expo, so attendees can not only see the machines, but experience it in operation. The result? 30% increase in sales.

The event came with many challenges, as it was a basic green site, so we cut the grass, put up fences, brought in generators, toilets and even AV. Logistically getting the heavy machines to the required area of the ranch was a challenge we overcame with a creative approach, and using four-wheel drives and a minibus for transfers from the entrance of the ranch to the field.

In the evening we threw in an outback BBQ in true Aussie style for our delegate complete with a bon fire under the stars. The event was their best to date and next year we will be looking to do it again in Melbourne.
